Over a series of five workshops, our KI-NIT newcomer workshops will cover many areas to help you boost your job-readiness.  These workshops are designed to support you in developing a better career strategy and better navigate the Australian recruitment.

Session 1:   7 October 2018 – Understanding Australian Workplace Culture

Understanding the workplace culture in Australia is vital for all professionals to survive and thrive.  If you want to manage and grow your career in an Australian workplace, this workshop will give all you need to know.

Session 2: 14 October 2018 – Effective Interview Techniques

Learn practical tips on how you can prepare and ace your upcoming interviews. Find out what are the key aspects to research, how to profile and understand the interviewers, profile the company, rehearse hard questions such as the remuneration question, how to dress and present yourself with body language and confidence drivers.

Session 3: 21 October 2018 – LinkedIn for job-seekers

LinkedIn is fast becoming the number 1 source of online recruitment.  This workshop will give you everything you need to make LinkedIn a potent tool in your job-search strategy.

NOTE: For a more effective session, participants are highly encouraged to bring their own laptops on the day to work on their profiles. Power points are available.

Session 4: 28 October 2018 – Building powerful resumes / CV

In today’s competitive market, when applying for a job, you need a resume that makes you stand out from the crowd.  Come along to the workshop on “Building Powerful Resumes” and learn how to :

  • Customise and tailor your resume around the job you are applying for.
  • Gain a competitive edge with a cover letter that grabs the attention of an employer/recruiter.

NOTE: For a more effective session, participants are highly encouraged to bring their own laptops on the day to work on their profiles. Power points are available.

Session 5:    4 November 2018 – Effective Networking

It is said that 80% of Australian jobs are never advertised but filled through networks. Join this workshop to know all about how you too can tap into this hidden opportunity.
